Today in sunny Lancaster California we got a call from a customer complaining about her kitchen floor feeling as if there was a stove of some sort underneath the concrete. The customer also informed us that there was steam almost a humid feeling inside the entire home, so someone was dispatched immediately to go assess the issue. The technician had done all the necessary testing to diagnose properly, and found that the customer had what we call in this profession of Plumbing a slab leak.
So the customers heart dropped to find out what had to be done in order to fix the slab leak. We let her know that the pipe could possibly be rerouted it or she could actually repipe the whole entire house and get the pipes out of the ground completely, or just do like what’s inside the picture above and repair the pipe that is actually damaged. Most customers go with the direct repair of the piping which is like what’s inside the picture above, but my professional opinion is that all the piping that is inside the ground has been they’re the same amount of time the pipe that is damage has been there. So I would suggest repiping the entire home, don’t be intimidated by the process of repiping, trust me being in the business for as long as I have it’s not that bad when repairing walls or whatever has to be done to repipe the home. This is single-handedly one of the best things you could ever invest in when purchasing a home or owning a home.
To me it’s another way of saying the piping system starts new with you, you actually know the date that all brand new piping was installed into your property. If you could do that with every major component in your home you will have pleasant, less stressful, days to come in your home. This is what we call here at Daniel Plumbing And Maintenance preventive maintenance as well.
