Daniel Plumbing and Maintenance wants to help you this winter.
When the temperature gets below freezing outside, there is the potential for your pipes to freeze. During cold fridged temperatures here are a few things you can do to maintain “healthy” pipes. See the tips below to save, save, save! Remember an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
- If you have water supply lines in the garage, keep the garage door closed to prevent cold air from entering and becoming trapped.
- Running water through a pipe can prevent it from freezing, even a very slow drip can do the trick.
- Try to keep areas within the dwelling at the same temperature. For example, keep cabinet doors open during a chill in an attempt to keep the pipes at room temperature.
Ice is beautiful, but not when it’s on your pipes!
